This was a reschedule from last week and took the place of the Helias game. It was nice for us in that we got to have another home game and another game as we look to get back into playing shape after the long break. Eldon started off quicker and got out to a good lead.

It was strange to be playing on a Saturday morning, but it was a good place to be: at home and playing for a third place trophy. The girls started out very well against an Eldon team that was a very different one than the team we played in early December. I was very pleased with how aggressive our guards were with the drive.

Dear School of the Osage Students, Families, and Community- We are currently in the process of gathering information to inform decisions about next year’s calendar. We are gathering information from the following sources.

The Lady Indians were hoping to put the bad memory of the Hallsville game out of their mind and they did a great job of that against a much improved 7-4 Iberia team. The first quarter was the Sara Wolf show as she hit four three’s to lead our attack. As she would tell you, this was a team effort.

This was the opening game in our pool of the Osage tournament. We were playing a Plato team that we don’t see very often. They didn’t have a ton of wins, but they are well coached and have played many close games against the best their conference has to offer.

This game seemed very familiar, but not in a good way. On Friday our girls shot the ball extremely well against Buffalo and did just about everything right in the first half. The same thing happened in this game, but it was Hallsville that shot well and did most everything correctly.

The Lady Indians hoped to continue their recent string of strong play when Buffalo came to town on Friday. Both teams came in 4-5 on the year and both have been playing much better after slow starts. To say that our girls came out firing on all cylinders would be an understatement.

For our first game in 19 days a much-improved Linn team came to Osage. We hoped to continue our hot shooting from the previous game, but after such a long layoff, you never know. We started a bit sluggishly and let their best player get some open looks. We were down 8-4 and took a timeout.

Dear School of the Osage Students, Families, and Community- In August, it seemed doubtful that we would make it through the semester without some type of building closure. Because of your support, patience, and extra-effort, we’ve made it the entire semester with all buildings AND classrooms open. This year has certainly been one for the record books. Like some of you, I am not going to be sad to see it take a bow and leave the stage.

Dear School of the Osage Students, Families, and Community- I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! It’s been a truly unique (if not crazy) year. But as our Osage Team made it back safely after a few days away, we agree that there is so much for which to be grateful. Your support, understanding, and generosity have been instrumental in the success of this year to date. THANK YOU!

The Lady Indians opened up the conference tourney as the sixth seed against the three seed California. Both seed numbers speak to how tough this conference is. California was ranked as high as number 3 in the state last year and comes in as the third best team.

Superintendent's Update for September 9th
Dear School of the Osage Students, Families, and Community- It’s with great relief that we have moved from the challenge of getting schools open to keeping them open. But as you probably know too, planning for extra sanitation, extra mask use, and social distancing in theory feels really different from practicing them vigilantly for a real cause.
