Girls Basketball vs Eldon

This was a reschedule from last week and took the place of the Helias game. It was nice for us in that we got to have another home game and another game as we look to get back into playing shape after the long break. Eldon started off quicker and got out to a good lead. I was very pleased, now and… Read More >>

Varsity Girls’ Basketball vs Eldon

It was strange to be playing on a Saturday morning, but it was a good place to be: at home and playing for a third place trophy. The girls started out very well against an Eldon team that was a very different one than the team we played in early December. I was very pleased with how aggressive our… Read More >>

Girls Basketball vs Iberia

The Lady Indians were hoping to put the bad memory of the Hallsville game out of their mind and they did a great job of that against a much improved 7-4 Iberia team. The first quarter was the Sara Wolf show as she hit four three’s to lead our attack. As she would tell you, this was a team effort.… Read More >>

Girls Basketball vs Plato

This was the opening game in our pool of the Osage tournament. We were playing a Plato team that we don’t see very often. They didn’t have a ton of wins, but they are well coached and have played many close games against the best their conference has to offer. The girls did a great job of starting… Read More >>

Girls Basketball vs Hallsville

This game seemed very familiar, but not in a good way. On Friday our girls shot the ball extremely well against Buffalo and did just about everything right in the first half. The same thing happened in this game, but it was Hallsville that shot well and did most everything correctly. They are a… Read More >>

Last year Osage finished 10-15 (2-5 Conf.).  It was an adjustment year as we graduated the most successful senior class ever.  We had no seniors on the team so our underclassmen had to step up.  We were led by Sara Wolf (16.5 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 3.0 apg, 3.7 spg) and Liberty Gamm (17.1 ppg, 7.2 rpg in only half a season due to injury).  We had several highlights last year.  We were able to play in the Norm Stewart 48 Hours of Basketball where we beat Columbia Hickman in OT on the Mizzou Arena floor.  Liberty scored 42 points in a game to set the school record for points in a game and Sara hit 66 3’s to set the single season record for our school.

This year we are senior led.  The two previously mentioned are key to our success.  Also returning are: SR Syd Riley (5.5 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.0 apg); SR Paige Rowland (2.0 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.4 apg); SR Alisa Boswell (2.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg); and JR Reese Good (5.5 ppg, 1.0 rpg).  We will be looking to get contribution from JR Marley Corpe, JR Scout Mayer, SO Katherine Wolf, SO Alyssa Newberry, FR Lauren Bartlett, FR Lexie Porter, and FR Alison Steen. This is a great hard-working group to coach.  We are a bit underrated, but I know that they will push each other throughout the season to achieve success.
