This game seemed very familiar, but not in a good way. On Friday our girls shot the ball extremely well against Buffalo and did just about everything right in the first half. The same thing happened in this game, but it was Hallsville that shot well and did most everything correctly. They are a very good team, but they shot the ball extremely well and shots they didn’t make, it seemed they got the offensive board and then put it back to get the score. The game started off close for about the first four or five minutes. We were down, but it was back and forth. We got a three from Sara, a bucket from Marley and then we went cold, their defensive pressure stepped up and we were in trouble. In the second quarter it was more of the same, we got a couple good baskets from Alisa inside, but just couldn’t string together enough possessions to stay close. We hoped for a turnaround after halftime, but it wasn’t to be. Reese did hit a three, but we had too many turnovers and just didn’t get enough shots up to stay close. In the fourth we got good minutes from Alyssa, Alison, Scout, and Marley and scored eight points. This was a tough one for our team and we’ll look to bounce back on Thursday against a good Iberia team.
