Dear School of the Osage Students, Families, and Community-

As we prepare to wrap up this second quarter, we are looking forward to next semester. Prom and graduation will be here before we know it. Many of our seniors have their plans all ready to go, but many of them are also finalizing applications and scholarship submissions. The high school counseling office is populated with the holiday elves of college and career readiness. I don’t know about you, but with so many other things askew in 2020, this type of traditional activity is a joy to behold.  We are very proud of the class of ‘21. They are a motivated and positive group of young people. Rather than complaining about all the pandemic has ruined for them, they are looking to the future with hope and enthusiasm.  Moving forward, we want to introduce you to some of them. I’ll be including a senior spotlight link in my weekly updates. I suspect you will find something in their stories to brighten your day. (For this week's Senior Spotlight, click here).

In other good news, the School of the Osage School Board is up for inclusion in a list of 100 community boards across the country committed to strong governance. Our BOE regularly meets twice a month and additionally for other planned work. They participate in on-going training, sometimes with staff, and continually through the Missouri School Boards Association. These countless hours of hard work result in great stability for the district as we collectively pursue a vision for excellence. • Monday is the second quarter Make-Up Monday. This means that there will be no scheduled Zoom calls and students can use it to catch up. Monday has been deemed pajama day by several of our schools. (All schools are going to be celebrating the last week of the semester next week with Holiday spirit days.)
