Girls Basketball vs Eldon

This was a reschedule from last week and took the place of the Helias game. It was nice for us in that we got to have another home game and another game as we look to get back into playing shape after the long break. Eldon started off quicker and got out to a good lead. I was very pleased, now and later, with how our girls handled being down. Eldon was playing very good defense and limiting our outside looks so we pounded it inside to Liberty, Lauren, and Alisa. They got 10 of our points and lots of our rebounds in the first quarter, led by Liberty with 7. In the second quarter Eldon remained… read more Read More >>

Varsity Girls’ Basketball vs Eldon

It was strange to be playing on a Saturday morning, but it was a good place to be: at home and playing for a third place trophy. The girls started out very well against an Eldon team that was a very different one than the team we played in early December. I was very pleased with how aggressive our guards were with the drive. We had Reese, Sara, and Syd all looking to be strong with the ball and get to the basket. Reese scored four points of drives and so did Sara. We also got a deep three from Sara. A big key offensively happened at the buzzer when we ran our sideline and Alyssa was… read more Read More >>

Girls Basketball vs Iberia

The Lady Indians were hoping to put the bad memory of the Hallsville game out of their mind and they did a great job of that against a much improved 7-4 Iberia team. The first quarter was the Sara Wolf show as she hit four three’s to lead our attack. As she would tell you, this was a team effort. Iberia played a zone and our girls were very patient and reversed the ball many times to get open looks for her. I thought Reese, Syd and Paige were very good about handling the ball and working for good shots. We got a couple of FT’s from Marley and Alisa and had a four point lead after one. Our… read more Read More >>

Girls Basketball vs Plato

This was the opening game in our pool of the Osage tournament. We were playing a Plato team that we don’t see very often. They didn’t have a ton of wins, but they are well coached and have played many close games against the best their conference has to offer. The girls did a great job of starting off strong, much like we have in many games this year. We got two three’s from Reese and Sara in the opening frame, and with a two pointer from Sara mixed in, those two guards scored our 14 points in the quarter. The ladies played pretty good team defense, but fouled a few times on shots and Plato… read more Read More >>
