More Details

Next Generation Mentoring The Next Generation Mentoring Program is an eMentoring program which pairs every 9th and 10th grade student with a community member who shares a career and/or hobby interest.

The  Next Generation Mentoring Project allows community mentors the opportunity to volunteer their expertise to a student in a way that overcomes time constraints and geographical barriers by relying primarily on email exchanges. Mentors receive training and specific instructions in an effort to ensure a user-friendly process. More importantly, mentors are able to be instrumental in helping a student develop/grow a plan that puts him or her on the path towards on-going success.

Throughout this program, students further strengthen career or hobby interests, develop and implement a resume, create contacts for potential high school internships, and discuss appropriate post-secondary options for their career/hobby interests.   The project is being guided by the Next Generation Mentoring Advisory Council which includes Osage staff and community members represented a wide-range of local interests.
